Collection of Market Leaders to Educate Attendees About How Open Authentication Fits into Mobile Strategies
SAN FRANCISCO, September 14, 2005 – Mobile Business Expo 2005, produced by MediaLive International, Inc. announced today that it has teamed with the Initiative for Open Authentication (OATH) to create an OATH Pavilion at this year’s event. Representatives from companies such as Aventail, Diversinet, Gemplus, Identita Technologies, Inc., PortWise, Spyrus, and Verisign will be gathered at the Pavilion to debate and discuss the benefits of a single, open authentication standard for users on all devices, including mobile phones, PDAs, laptops and Wi-FI access points. Mobile Business Expo (www.mobilebusinessexpo.com) will be held October 9-12, 2005 at the Chicago Navy Pier Conference and Expo Center.
OATH is a collaborative effort of IT industry leaders aimed at providing a reference architecture for strong authentication across all devices and networks. The OATH Pavilion at Mobile Business Expo will provide a forum for conference attendees to address concerns about identity theft and other security risks in relation to their mobile strategies.
“The inability to share data over mobile devices because of security concerns severely limits a company’s ability to conduct business efficiently, which is why we’re so excited about the OATH Pavilion at this year’s Mobile Business Expo,” said James Smith, Mobile Business Expo General Manager. “The Pavilion rounds out the conference agenda nicely, giving attendees integrated exposure to the strategies, technologies and issues necessary to create the best mobile strategy possible.”
“As mobile devices continue to expand the edge of the corporate network, strong two-factor authentication is a critical requirement for mobile users seeking to securely access business-critical data and applications remotely,” said Colleen Kulhanek, OATH marketing chair and a director of business development for SafeNet, Inc. “Mobile Business Expo presents an ideal venue for OATH representatives to share our work towards developing open standards for royalty-free open authentication and communicate how OATH member companies can solve business problems related to mobile security.”
Mobile Business Expo is targeted towards IT professionals, business managers and channel professionals who are focused on extending the mobility of their wireless workforces and looking to integrate the disciplines, technologies and vendors involved in the enterprise mobility equation.
Mobile Business Expo will combine thought leadership, practical education and a product exhibition to allow attendees to create an effective and competitive mobile and wireless strategy for their companies. Mobile Business Expo will feature compelling keynotes, in-depth conference sessions, real-life case studies, and special events, all targeted on key building blocks of an enterprise mobility strategy, from applications to middleware, from mobile devices to infrastructure and wireless networking, while also focusing on carrier services, security and standards.
Mobile Business Expo will closely examine the drivers of business mobility, delivering the latest technologies and solutions in one place, allowing attendees to compare products from the leading technology companies and relative newcomers, side-by-side, to make informed purchasing decisions. Mobile Business Expo also provides the information, education, and solutions necessary for businesses to either upgrade an existing IT infrastructure to support and maximize a mobile workforce, or build a complete wireless and mobility strategy from the ground up.
